The brief for this project was to refresh the tired-looking interiors of this Dublin 4 home, creating a sense of homeliness whilst also being fresh and uplifting. As the house is frequently used by different members of a large extended family living outside Dublin, the interiors must appeal to all ages and be practical and easy to maintain. Hidden storage was also part of the brief. We designed under stairs units, bench seat storage and created a focal point in both the living room and the open plan living/dining/kitchen through the addition of bespoke joinery which incorporates storage, TV and inset fire.
The colour scheme is mainly soothing, neutral and warm with vibrant blue used as an accent in the hallway and repeated throughout. Many of the furniture items, upholstery, curtains, and artwork were sourced or made bespoke by Interiors by Caroline to create a comfortable retreat with a timeless appeal.
